About Safdarjung’s Tomb
Built in 1753-54 as the mausoleum of Safdarjung, the viceroy of Awadh under the Mughal Emperor Mohammed Shah. It is the last enclosed garden tomb in Delhi. It has several smaller pavilions like Jangli Mahal (Palace in the Woods), Moti Mahal (Pearl Palace) and Badshah Pasand (Kings Favourite). A library is maintained by the Archeological Survey of India over the main gateway.
